House 2 - Initial Review Of The 2009 Heat Survey Results

A number of points come across very clearly from this survey.

1. There is a lot of scope for improving loft insulation.

2. The hall is suffers from draughts around front door and side glazing

3. Heat loss through the outside walls behind radiators can be reduced.

4. The garage needs draughtpoofing including gaps around ceiling edges.

5. Uninsulated central heating pipes in cold areas need insulationg.

6. The door between the garage and utility room does not fit properly.

7. The backdoor needs replacing with a double glazed one.

8. The central heating system needs balancing and setting up properly.

9. The gas fire in the lounge loses a lot of heat up the chimney.

10. Need to check all pipe and cable entry holes in all rooms for draughts.

Initial priorities to fix are the exposed heating pipes in the garage and the loft insulation followed by the front door.
