House 1 - Summary Of Oil Cost Improvements

This graph shows how the oil cost for heating has varied over the last few years. The costs do not totally reflect changes in the oil price because I try and purchase at the best time/price. This means for instance the oil purchased in 2006 was cheaper than it could have been because I purchased just before a lot of the rises that year. In addition where multiple oil purchases occurred I have averaged out the costs. 2007 and 2008 have seen the cost of oil creeping up again despite efforts to get the best price. At the time of writing (December 2008) oil prices have come down somewhat but for how long?

This graph shows the percentage change in oil costs for heating by comparing annual periods starting in October with the period October 2003 to September 2004. The figures take into account the savings in the number of litres of oil used.
