| On first moving in in October 2009 we implemented most of the simple
tips to save electricity and changed most of the light bulbs to low energy ones plus sorted out a few standby problems.. This graph is relative to use between November 2009 and January 2010 so the savings will be nowhere as dramatic as house 1. Electricity use will be higher in the
winter mainly because of increased use of lights and the
central heating. The short term variations are caused the number of people in the house at any one time. The graph below shows how electricity use has varied
over the year or so. The large dip in July is due to holidays and the large peaks in August and September 2010 are due to visitors. The very large peak in December 2010 was caused by excessively cold temperature (-19C) when emergency electric heating was used in the chicken house and greenhouse for a few days. . |

| The graph below shows the percentage
electricity saved by comparing electricity use between November 2009 and January 2010. This does mean these results will be somewhat suspect for a few more months. Over the next few months we will be looking for further savings of around 15%. |
